2025 Nissan Qashqai – Features, Performance, and Pricing

Those looking for an automobile that is easily manoeuvrable and offers efficient fuel economy should consider opting for compact SUVs. The Nissan Qashqai is one of the top choices in this category. Due to its ample cargo space and flexible seating, it easily adapts to various driving needs. The newly launched 2025 Qashqai comes with some impressive upgrades in design and performance, making it just as efficient and comfortable as its predecessors.

1. Performance and fuel economy

Irrespective of the powertrain one chooses, the Nissan Qashqai offers a refined and comfortable drive. The new range is powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.

The hybrid model e-Power has a more powerful 1.5L engine under the bonnet. The hybrid is expected to deliver an output of around 250Nm and 116kW. The wheel sizes available for Qashqai are from 17-inches to 20-inches. The wheel size one chooses will significantly impact the driving quality. The cars in the lineup are fun to drive. The car comes with a standard six-speed manual transmission gearbox. Buyers can optionally upgrade to an automatic gearbox with the DIG-T 158 engine.

Irrespective of the trim or variant chosen, the 2025 Nissan Qashqai offers the same fuel economy across its lineup. For automatic versions, the starting mileage is about 45 mpg.

However, with manual cars, expect the starting mileage to be 44mpg. Going with the four-wheel drive version of the higher trims can produce 40mpg. The electric Qashqai manages to produce 54.3 mpg.

2. Design and technology

The interior design and upgrades are where the new Qashqai shines the best. It is now among the most impressive cars from Nissan. The upgraded design and material come with a more modern-looking car dash. The higher trims in the Qashqai lineup come with an upgraded Google-based infotainment system. This lets users access Google Assistant (to manage audio system, climate control, and more), Google Play (to download and access apps), and Google Maps (for real-time traffic data and navigation)

The infotainment centre features a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, and the driver also has a digital dial cluster that displays all the necessary car specs. The dash also features a handful of physical buttons and knobs. This makes it easier to locate the necessary controls without taking one’s eyes off the road and fumbling around for touch controls. There is a limited number of touch controls, which can help drivers avoid lane excursions or eye-off-road instances. The infotainment system in the higher-end trims has access to several Google applications. The lineup also has easy integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

3. Boot space and practicality

Most family-centric SUVs take comfort seriously. The newly launched third-generation Qashqai is no different. The sizeable interiors are great for a car of this class. The boot offers 504 litres of storage space. With the rear seats folded down and the boot floor raised, there is a proper flat surface to stow things at the car’s rear. This opens up the storage space to 1,447 litres in the lower models. In the higher trims, the boot space amounts to 1,422 litres. With the base model, buyers can enjoy a towing capacity of 1,400 kgs. With higher trims, engine upgrades result in an upgraded towing capacity of 1,650 kgs. People can get a towing capacity of 1,800 kg when they opt for a four-wheel drive version. However, the hybrid Qashqai can only tow 750 kg and does not necessarily qualify for heavy towing.

4. Safety and reliability

The Qashqai has previously received one of the top safety ratings in the UK, making it a great buy for families. The car offers a comprehensive list of safety features as a standard inclusion. It offers features such as blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic monitoring and alerts, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-keep assistance. The car also has a checking system that periodically confirms that the driver is awake and alert. Cameras positioned at different spots on the car offer a 360° view around the vehicle, helping the driver ensure safe driving. The Around View Monitor makes it easier to avoid any mishaps, while the rear camera offers a view of what’s occurring at the vehicle’s backside.

5. Pricing

The starting cost of the 2025 Nissan Qashqai is £24,566. Based on the customisations one chooses, the base model can cost up to £30,000. However, seniors who want to buy the car can check the ongoing offers and discounts available on the brand’s official site. Older adults can make the most of senior benefits or speak to dealerships around them to see if they can avail of further price deductions.

Individuals buying the brand-new Nissan Qashqai should consider investing in the service plan being offered by the company. Buyers can choose based on the period of the service they want to pay for. There are plans available that cover the maintenance and other car services for two to four years. The plans can cost upward of £500. Additionally, Qashqai vehicles also come with a three-year or 60,000-mile warranty. Those who want an extended warranty would need to shell out some more money.
